in which i shall aim to offend

Word of the week: Lame.
So, yeah. Wow. How long has it been since I did this, anyway?
Let's just say I was waiting for Veronica Mars to come back on. And then I was waiting until I'd watched EVERYTHING else before I watched that.
Like, Gilmore Girls
It's official enough that I can call it official now, right? Canceled. No more.
Hoo-rah.
I think maybe the nearing of the end thing is making me more forgiving. I haven't hated it lately. Well, y'know, Logan is lame, and Logan makes Rory lame, and Paris is lame (I had the world's scariest thought during her "OMG I got in! Everywhere!" scene: The Paris Geller Show. How much would THAT stink??).
And hay bale mazes are lame. I don't care what you say, I don't care if you live in one and it's awesome. Hay bale mazes are lame. They simply MUST be.
Oh, and Zack and Lane are lame.
But Luke and Lorelai have been making me remember why I shipped them in the first place. Not that there's any of the chemistry still left, but there's something. How Lorelai is enjoying fighting with him so much. I love that.
Oh, and Sookie and Jackson are lame. Of course she's pissed off you said you had the vasectomy and it was a lie and she got pregnant. Morning sickness and the other baby screaming isn't going make her think you're just SWELL for doing that. (How happy am I I'm not that kid. "Yeah, so daddy lied to me and said we couldn't have any more babies, but then I got pregnant with you. Oh, I hated you SO much before you were born." "Accident" just has such a nice ring to it compared to that.)
Oh, and then my whole 'Why Lamb is dead' theory came true on Gilmore Girls. They ACTUALLY FILMED A FANFIC. They must have. No professional writer could have thought it was a good idea to do KARAOKE.
Oh, the lameness of it.
And yet, perversely, I liked it. Sort of. In the way I like roasted marshmallows although I KNOW they make me feel sick.
No, I think it's all good that there are only two episodes left. I can't come up with a single reason why it's bad.
...And Boston Legal
Hmm.
Denny flashback episode. I get that it was brilliant, but I still didn't like it. I don't like Denny when he gets too serious. And Alan and the prostitute. And Brad in the vent. Lame-oh. (Did I rant about this already? I have this feeling that I did. Whatever, moving on.)
Umm. Then Brad proposed, right? That ship is just sooo weird. Do I like it? Do I think it's dumb? Who knows. It's like, I like PARTS of it. Completely random parts. I just have this feeling that they're constantly skipping ahead, but I get they're in a hurry if they are going to have it make sense that Brad leaves at the end of this season. (Which doesn't really bother me as much as maybe it should, I'm already wondering who they're bringing in instead. If you know, don't tell me though, I'm not wondering like THAT.) But I DID have a problem with Brad telling Denise he's been in love with her for three years. Okay, so maybe Denise was there during first season, we just didn't see her, but I remember Brad telling LORI he was in love with her (or something to that effect). Isn't Brad the old-fashioned type who doesn't believe you can be in love with two people at the same time?
It's not that it's a terribly big mistake, it's just that this show wins on continuity, so when they mess up it's a very sore thumb.
I'm with Denise. No uniform at the wedding. If you're so desperate to support the troops, go see some in a VA hospital. Don't bring the war to your wedding. But yeah, I was all touched and whatever by his speech. Meh.
But, oooooh. "Naa-na-na-naaa-naa. Alan's got a GIRLfriend." Heh. I don't like her, but I like Alan liking her. I liked Alan liking Tara much much better. I miss Tara. And not just because of the S1 repeats.
The Hands/Clarice trial... I was doing that embarrassed chuckle behind my hands thing for most of it. But I'm glad Jerry is mostly back to being his awkward self again. Cigarette!Jerry just bothers me.
Why is it I like the social misfits so much?
Wait, no. Don't answer that.
Oh, and Without a Trace, too...
I've come to a decision, and now I'm telling the world, and hopefully someone will hold me to it: Until the season finale, and unless something incredibly cool happens, that's it. No season six for me. That's it.
All watching ever does is downright piss me off because it's so bad or just annoy me because it's a waste of time. I could be doing something useful with that time, like counting grease stains on my kitchen wall. Or attempting to chew off my arm.
There were two lame episodes I haven't mentioned, I think, but I honestly don't remember, so let's just skip ahead to this week. Because this week had all our favorite ingredients:
-Veronica Mars guest star. (Oh, Hannah Banana. Glad to see you gained a bit of weight. Was it being cast as a bulimia spokesperson that made you start eating?)
-Poppy brought her lack of acting skills to work again. Yay us.
-Jack mumbling and not taking his job seriously.
-Elena giving long speeches because she's just way smarter than you.
-Drug addicts (None of whom were Martin, because why should THAT come up ever again?)
-A really boring plot. (Not having a boring plot on WaT is like trying to bake a cake with no flour.)
The only thing that almost consistently rocks on this show? Viv. Who rocked especially in this episode. It seems they're giving her all the cool lines. Or, no, that's not true, Sam gets a few good lines as well, Poppy just makes them SUCK.
I have no love for Poppy these days. It's not just a shallow "She looks freaky" thing. It's that the chick seriously has forgotten how to act. Every single scene she was in, she annoyed me. How she says her lines, her expressions, her body language. Everything.
I'm betting it's because ALP veto'ed the Sam/Jack sex scene she had suggested for the season finale, so now she's being sulky.
Well, boohoo for us.
I just really really wish I didn't keep coming up with fanfic ideas for this lame show. Just leave me alone, lame plot bunnies.
And Bones was on as well
...but only once, because we're all about political correctness and not at all about making sense.
Yes, yes, yes. I get it. Some guy went crazy and killed a bunch of people and it's very very sad and disturbing (But has nothing at all to do with how anyone can get a gun. Of course not.), and then Bones was canceled that week because of the huge need to report on all the sadness. Fine.
But really, does the fact that the episode is about a dead college student mean that you can't air it at all? Can we never say college again? "College. College. College."
And if you're going to be THAT obsessively PC, at least do a fucking "What would have been Previously On but we're too silly to show you" so the SECOND proposal will make just a tiny bit of sense.
Right. That's that out of the way.
Because I've completely OD'ed on television recently, I honestly can't remember what this one was about. Oh, wait. It was the astronaut who got sliced and diced by the propeller and then got dropped from a plane. Right.
Gross.
And Brennan made a silly joke. "It's a pun. Get it?"
No, actually, not now that you've killed it dead.
But I still love her. And I love how she asks completely inappropriate questions and then it's just that no one else followed her logic. Clearly "Did you drink a lot together?" means "Were you good friends?" How does everyone not know that?
No overt shippyness, which made me happy. I like it when nothing happens. It takes longer to get there that way.
Angela is weird.
And let's just end it there.
Which brings us to Veronica at last
The insanely long hiatus made me able to save Veronica until I had watched everything else. Because I knew Veronica would be the one that made me long for another episode the most.
And I was so right about that.
I love Veronica. I'm trying to come up with someone I like better but I can't, so I think she's my favorite tv character these days.
The existence of Piz has been completely justified to me. I think I'll even be able to tolerate a bit of Piz/Veronica relationship boredom.
Logan seeing them kissing was worth SO MUCH Pizzy whining.
Logan stinks. Logan and Parker together stink. They're just so boring. But I guess at least Logan isn't mopey and annoying now. I just wish Veronica wouldn't be looking so pathetically longingly at him.
Wallace rocks. He was just perfect this week. And not just for actually being IN the episode. Also for trying to get Piz not to be so lame, and for calling Veronica on how she was treating Piz. Yay Wallace.
And I can't complain about where it went, because as dumb as that was (Veronica suddenly realizing that she DID in fact want to be kissing Piz, I mean), it also led to my most favorite VM moment of the season.
Now, if she could only wake up next week and realize it was just because she was drunk that would be swell. If she could manage to explain that to Piz without things getting too awkward that would be even sweller.
If not, I still maintain that Logan seeing them was worth it.
It was.
No, really.
Whew.
So, yeah. Wow. How long has it been since I did this, anyway?

Date: 2007-05-07 09:56 pm (UTC)I actually almost vomited in my mouth. (It could also be these disgusting chips that I can't stop eating but they're the only thing I have...)
Poppy is... Well. When I see Poppy, all I can think is (this is best illustrated as such)
It is a bird trying to steal a bag of rocks.
I believe this illustrates her pure stupidity. (And lack of talent, because surely a cool, strong, talented bird could steal those rocks.) But wtf, what bird wants a bag of rocks? Honestly. It's like Poppy in bird form.
I am so glad I know nothing of WaT anymore. I can then dance around and laugh at the people who still watch it. (Except you, because you are suffering.) Poppy deserves someone to slap the stupid out of her. What a moron.
The Jack/Sam
barf-festsex just shows how little grasp she has of ANYTHING other than herself.Ugh. (How in the WORLD do I own 2 of her movies...)
ANYWAY, onto brighter less aggravating things! Boston Legal. Hmm, maybe that's not less aggravating. I also have a problem with the Denise/Brad thing just because it seems like no one is taking it seriously. They get like 5 minutes per episode to somehow convince the audience that they're SO IN LOVE OMG. (I mean, I think they are it just doesn't seem to be that well explained... SO I wrote a fic lol. I must fill in the deets). But I thought they had awesome, hot chemistry last season so I'm still clinging onto that.
I honestly think both Brad and Denise are leaving the show. We know Mark's leaving, so he'll probably go to the DA's office or government (as Denise said he'd be in charge of Homeland Security). And he made a comment about her severing. Hmmm.... Plus Julie Bowen will probably want to raise her kid.... Who knows!!
And yay for your positive VM review! (Well, 'positive' because I agree lol).

Date: 2007-05-08 08:05 pm (UTC)The sex came from my disturbed mind. But I think it must be on hers as well. There is no dating, just a lot of lame possible flirting. (No one really knows if it's flirting, because there's this gross incestuous father figure layer to it as well.) A lot of (Destined) people seem convinced they WILL be dating later on, though. I still shun all things spoiler-y, so I don't know if it's justified or just the usual stupidity.
Can we blame the chips? I'd hate to be responsible for any near-vomiting incidents. Heh.
BL fanfic? Written by you? Where? No, wait, don't tell me, no, tell me, no... Wait... FIRST tell me: Is it worth it getting sucked into BL ficdom? (Not is your story worth it, is the fanfiction in general worth it?)
Yeah, it's the "Does she really love him?" that bothers me. He has me pretty convinced. (Yay for that!) I just can't get rid of the feeling that she really liked Coho better...
And yay for your positive VM review! (Well, 'positive' because I agree lol).
Really? I thought you'd be hating on me for sure for (sort of) liking Piz. But then I get it wasn't really Piz I liked so much as Logan seeing it. LOL

Date: 2007-05-09 04:24 am (UTC)the fact that i am so gullible
or
the fact that i can actually see poppy doing something so stupid...
Hmmm.
Well, heh. I haven't posted it anywhere yet. It's not that good but I had to get it out so then I can read it and be like, "Well they are in love because it's been written somewhere in a way that i believe that claim." i don't care if it's almost like a split personality problem i have. ;) BL ficdom is... pretty lame. There's VERY little of it. And like a total of 2 Brad/Denise fics. They're all male slash with Alan/Denny. Which you know, I see why, but I'm really not interested. It's funny and fine on the show... Don't care for the fanfic (which is mostly written by women anyway and I normally have a problem with women writing male slash. It always seems so contrived and sappy... just like boys writing femmeslash make it unnecessarily raunchy and distasteful. although really, my only real reading ofmale/male came from WaT and WaT fans are just dim overall... And OC. Seth/Ryan fics where better...)
ANYWAY. BL fic, you're not missing much.
I never really got the feeling she liked either one of them particularly. Which is weird. I think she was totally infatuated with Brad in S2 but s3 is a bit of a dud for Denise. I mean, I just don't see her loving ANYONE of the 3 guys she's slept with this season (i'm pretending she didn't sleep with Alan). I never got that she was THAT in love with Daniel Post... But meh. The thing is, she had huge issues about Daniel's values as she does with Brad's... Stubborn little thing, she is! ;) LOL. Although, honestly, I would have slapped his bossy self back into 1950 if I was her.
I miss season 2 Denise. She was sassy and passionate. And actually did... lawyer things like go to court. This season she hasn't done much other than sleep around and get knocked up.
Either way, I think both Brad and Denise are hypocrites. Heh.
Well, I don't like Piz at all. But meh, the rest was good and yeah, I was focussing more on the "i like Piz cos, HAHA! Look at Logan!"
